Silas Adler has come a long way since he started producing T-shirts at age 17 as an excuse for not going to school. His brand Soulland, now sold all over the world, is best-known for its fedora hat married to a baseball cap. However, there wasn’t a fedora of any sort in sight on Wednesday night, when Soulland showed its latest collection in Copenhagen. I did see an impressive range of trenchcoats, blazers, jerseys, chinos, shorts, leather jackets and even a suit. The large crowd packed like sardines around the runway roared its approval.

I liked Soulland’s long, comfy-looking shirts and blazers with a straight lower edge. I wonder if the oversized look is nod to Adler’s “street” background as an avid skater?
“My job is figuring out how to bring down boundaries, and how to push things while keeping a connection with the past. You can be classical but you can’t be boring, and that’s what we try and do,” Adler has explained.
Soulland’s collection is sold in stores around the world, including Pigalle (Paris), Goodhood (London), Normann (Denmark), Assembly and Bblessing(NY), Beams (Tokyo), Margreeth Olsthoorn (Rotterdam) and Aplace (Stockholm).
