Pop singer Robyn has a new platform

Robyn, the Swedish pop princess adored by many in this corner of the world has taken shoe maker Timberland to new heights. She wore classic Timberland boots with Buffalo Platforms when she recently performed “Hang with Me” on Norway’s “Senkveld” talk show.

That information didn’t fall from the sky and land on my virtual head, but was harvested from the blog of designer Kjersti Vatle Toresen Vatle, a rising star on the Scandinavian fashion scene we earlier recommended. Vatle and a friend did some hard detective work to source the singer’s footwear. The raised boots look cool in this video but wouldn’t work for a tall dude like yours truly; I’d scrape my head on doorways if I wore elevated boots.

Robyn is an anti-fashion style heroine here on the ceiling of Europe, inspiring girls to have their hair cut in a fringe and mix-and-match their threads in an “I don’t give a fuck” manner. She seems to contrast high-fashion with street, hip-hop with snazzy design, feminine with masculine. She does her own thing.

I really admire Robyn for expressing her own style, both onstage & off!
