The photos above were taken last night at the opening of a trendy new boutique on the south side of Stockholm called STORE. The boutique was so packed that thirsty guests hardly had room to bend their arms upward in order to take a sip of beer.
“In one hour, I think a lot more people will be coming here,” said Linnea Carlgren, one half of the designer duo which calls itself Noir & Blanc. The two young women, who started their label after shifting to Stockholm from their home in the northern Swedish town of Umeå, seem to be on a fast track to success.
“The boutique will be a sort of laboratory for new ideas so that we can determine the taste of our customers which will help us to decide which direction we want to go. For the Fall season we have designed knitted garments in black and white which we initially only sell in our own shop,” explains Petra Thoms, the partner of Linnea.
In addition to Noir + Blanc, STORE will sell Odeur (which had a show in Shanghai last week), Nakkna and jewelry by Göran Kling. The interior of the shop is very cool, which is no big surprise since it was designed by the talented guys at Godspeed.
The shop located at Tjähovsgatan 3 is the brandchild of David & Niklas, a fashion agency which also imports vintage-inspired Los Angeles label Tulle as well as Frost Birgens, a hot Danish brand. Photos: Alexander Farnsworth
