Camilla Skovgaard up for top British award

What do Halle Berry, Rihanna and Kylie have in common, apart from a zillion articles about them in international gossip magazines? The celebs have all have been known to fancy footwear by London-based Camilla Skovgaard. The Danish shoe designer is on the shortlist of nominees for the Accessories Designer of the Year award in the United Kingdom, together with Emma Hill for Mulberry and Nicholas Kirkwood. The winners of the British Fashion Awards will be announced December 7 in London.
One could hardly be more cosmopolitan than Camilla, who works out of London, Dubai and Hong Kong.
Born in Denmark, she begain her career in couture at age 20 when a French-owned firm brought her to Dubai to design for wives and daughters for Sheiks in the region. Saks Fifth Avenue bought her first shoe collection even before she graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2006. Camilla currently has 166 wholesale accounts, including Saks Fifth Avenue in the USA, Harvey Nichols in London, Joyce Hong Kong and Villa Moda Dubai.
