Norwegian chess champ in G-Star campaign

 Magnus Carlsen, who was once described as “the Mozart of Chess,” will together with model and actress Liv Tyler represent international denim brand G-Star in its Fall/Winter 2010 advertising campaign.

The idea is to pair the glamour of Hollywood with the intelligence of Norway’s Magnus Carlsen, who became a Grandmaster at the tender age of 13.

 Carlsen, now 19 years old, made his international modeling debut in a Miami shoot by photographer Anton Corbijn. In the second stage of the media blitz, Carlsen on September 10, 2010 played a lead role in the Raw World Chess Challenge at the Cooper Hotel in New York City. Anyone who wanted could play Carlsen, the no.1 player in the world, live on the Internet.
